minbeth

This is an old revision of the document!

Intelligent automation, clearly explained

Pick what you need from the guide menu on the left.

Choose what you want to do

You do not need to learn every page before using Minbeth. Start with the outcome.

Make

Build a finished item

Use a manufacturing order when ingredients, intermediate crafts or several jobs are involved.

Gather

Get materials directly

Use direct craft, gathering or fishing when you want one clear activity rather than a full chain.

Trade

Buy, sell or restock

Use Market Board and retainer tools with explicit spending, price and stock limits.

The golden rule: result first, rules second, START QUEUE last. If you are unsure, keep the safe defaults and test with one small order.

Where everything lives

The normal sidebar contains ten user pages. You can ignore support-only pages unless a developer asks you to use them.

PageUse it for
OrdersCreate, import, edit, save and run the queue.

About Locations and Admin: these pages are hidden behind Support access and are intended for route recording and diagnostics. They are not part of normal setup.

First-time setup

This small test teaches the complete workflow without creating a large queue.

Check Settings. Keep Market Board buying off. Vendor buying is separate and is enabled by default.
Check Crafting. Confirm Cypher Craft integration, the recipe, job, books, folklore, gear and tools are available.
Create one order. Open Orders, add one finished item and choose a small quantity.
Choose material sources. Decide whether Minbeth may gather, craft, buy or wait.
Read the generated plan. Check the jobs, ingredients, locations, timed sources and possible blockers.
Press START QUEUE. Open Progress and wait for the first meaningful status or action.
Stop before changing a live order. Let the current action finish, edit the quantity, source rules or mode, then start the updated plan.

Manufacturing orders

Use an order when the finished result needs more than one simple action.

1. Result

What should exist?

Choose the finished item and the desired amount.

2. Rules

What may Minbeth do?

Set the quantity mode and permitted material sources.

3. Action

Is the plan sensible?

Review it, press Start, then use Progress as the dashboard.

Choose the correct order type

Order typeWhat it does
ManufacturingCreates a normal item order and plans its material chain.
Materia MeldingImports a Teamcraft gearset, calculates missing materia and sends the plan to Tools > Melder.
Big FishScans the Fish Guide and maintains a rolling campaign of uncaught Big Fish.
SellProcesses selected carried or cached-retainer inventory as a sell order.
DiscardPermanently discards selected inventory after applying the chosen filters.
DesynthesisDesynthesises selected eligible inventory, optionally at a crafting home.
Sell, Discard and Desynthesis act on inventory. Review every selected item, quantity and filter before adding the order. Discard is permanent.

Quantity modes

ModePlain-English meaningExample
Inventory CapStop once carried inventory contains this many.Raise carried ingots to 50, then stop.
ReplenishMake or gather this many extra, regardless of current inventory.Add 12 more meals to whatever you already have.
Retainer SalesTop up known retainer Market Board listings to this amount.Restore a listing target of 20 items.

Material sources

ChoiceWhat Minbeth may do
Automatic / Gather and craftUse inventory, gathering and crafting as needed.
Buy unobtainableBuy materials that the available plan cannot gather or craft.
Buy recipe materialsBuy permitted recipe ingredients directly.
Buy direct ingredientsBuy the immediate ingredients for the requested craft.
Gather onlyCollect the requested materials without purchasing them or crafting the ordered final item.
A blocker can be correct. If a source rule forbids the next action, Minbeth should wait rather than silently break the rule.

Queue helpers worth knowing

Import

Teamcraft item lists

Paste the Items section from Teamcraft to create multiple Manufacturing orders. Recipes can finish loading after import.

Reuse

Saved profiles and bulk edit

Save or load complete order profiles, or select several Manufacturing orders and change their shared settings together.

Continuous

Repeat Order

A Manufacturing order with Repeat Order enabled starts again after its amount completes and continues until the queue is stopped.

Direct actions

Use these when you want one clear activity instead of a complete production chain.

Craft

Direct crafting

Open Crafting, select the job and recipe, set the amount, confirm materials, then start.

Gather

Direct gathering

Check the job, gear, tool, node, inventory space and any time or weather requirement.

Fish

Direct fishing

Check location, bait, tackle, time and weather. Use Big Fish for rare-catch campaigns.

Crafting and HQ control

The Crafting page shows every recipe in the current order and lets you choose its synthesis mode.

Quality

HQ

Uses Cypher Craft to plan a high-quality craft and calculate whether HQ sub-materials are actually needed.

Standard

NQ

Produces normal-quality output without spending materials to chase HQ.

Speed

Quick Synthesis

Appears only when the recipe supports it. Use it when speed matters more than individual synthesis control.

By default, Minbeth may use available HQ materials and automatically plan HQ sub-materials when Cypher Craft proves they are needed. Rarefied and collectable crafts do not spend HQ sub-materials.

Plan still updating? HQ simulation uses live crafter stats after the job change and consumables. Wait for PLAN READY before treating the material list as final.

Sell, discard and desynthesise

These order types process selected inventory instead of manufacturing a new item.

  • Items may be selected from carried inventory or cached retainer inventory.
  • Sell and Discard can filter by current per-item or stack price.
  • Desynthesis shows eligibility and desynthesis value, and can travel to a saved crafting home first.
  • Items added by name can wait until they become available.
  • Refresh prices and retainer caches before trusting an automatic selection.
Check the selection twice. Price filters can select many matching stacks, and an item order can process that item across all eligible stacks. Use the deposit blacklist and protected-item tools where appropriate.

Timed and ephemeral sources

A timed source is a scheduled opportunity, so Waiting can be a healthy status.

Identify. Minbeth finds the timed node, fish or resource required by the plan.
Wait. It watches for the time, weather or release condition.
Prepare. It gets the correct job and location ready.
Collect. It gathers or fishes the required target.
Continue. It returns to the wider order.

While one source is waiting, Minbeth may perform another ready task. Check Progress before changing the order.

Collectables and scrip

Collectable work includes both production and the intended exchange.

  • The collectable recipe or gathering item is unlocked.
  • The job, gear and stats are suitable.
  • The target scrip type and amount are correct.
  • The exchange is currently available.
Remember the turn-in. A successful craft may still be only part of the order if the exchange step is waiting.

Big Fish

Big Fish is a rolling campaign and is currently marked beta.

Start a campaign

Open the Big Fish or fishing tools area.
Run the Fish Guide scan.
Choose whether unscanned fish may be included.
Set the active batch size. The default is 24; the range is 4 to 48.
Start the campaign and follow its status.

Why a fish may wait

  • Its time window has not opened.
  • The weather is wrong.
  • The location, bait or tackle is missing.
  • It was not scanned and unscanned fish are excluded.
  • Another target has a better ready window.

Campaign options can add missing bait from vendors, allow a Market Board fallback, include unscanned fish, and discard ordinary bycatch when leaving a hole. Including unscanned fish is off by default because those fish may already be caught.

Review the two destructive/spending options. Market Board bait fallback can enable Market buying, while Discard bycatch permanently removes ordinary fish. The bycatch rule protects the target, other Big Fish, bait and items needed by another order.

Economy

Economy tracks products, estimates replacement cost and profit, and can turn reviewed recommendations into normal Minbeth orders.

Observe

Off

Stops background checks while keeping products and previous results visible.

Approve

Review

Keeps recommendations updated. Orders change only when you press QUEUE PLAN.

Automate

Automatic

Runs recommendations that pass the configured safety checks, with optional automatic queue start and selling.

Sync retainer stock before trusting stock targets. Economy-owned orders are reconciled separately and do not replace your own orders.

Profit is an estimate. Prices and demand can change. Review AT A LOSS, BLOCKED and Needs review products before enabling Automatic.

Market Board

Market buying is disabled by default. Enable it only when you deliberately want Minbeth to spend gil.

Per item

Max price each

The most gil Minbeth may pay for one item.

Per order

Max total

The most gil Minbeth may spend on the complete purchase.

Reserve

Keep gil

The amount of gil that must remain untouched.

Zero disables a cap. Before enabling buying, set a maximum price, maximum total and gil reserve. If any of them are unclear, leave buying off.

Vendor buying is separate

Vendor buying is enabled by default and vendors are preferred before the Market Board. Turning Market Board buying off does not disable purchases from NPC vendors. Review Settings > Buying if you want a no-purchase run.

Check prices before buying

Use CHECK PRICES to refresh listings and see the estimated order cost. Per-item caps are checked against refreshed live listings. Some deliberate choices, such as selecting a Market source or enabling Market bait fallback, can switch Market buying on.

Selling

Selling is separate from buying. Add items from carried stock, retainer cache or the item database, then configure quality, target units, listing stack, assigned retainer and minimum price.

Pricing strategies include Guarded, Lowest and Match. Automatic retainer visits can run from every 15 minutes to 24 hours; successful listings and updates are never repeated within 15 minutes. Reprice all listings also checks existing listings that are not in the Sell List.

Retainers

Retainer data is cached so Minbeth can plan without repeatedly reopening every inventory. The page is split into Overview, Inventory, Rules and Ventures.

SYNC RETAINERS. Refresh all known retainer inventories before relying on stock counts.
Select a retainer. Review its inventory, market state and available actions.
Choose the action. Withdraw or deposit items and gil, or build an exact transfer.
Protect important stock. Deposit-blacklisted items stay carried during automatic overflow storage.
Configure Ventures. Per-retainer Repeat venture collects a completed venture and reassigns the same one.
Refresh Orders. Rebuild the plan after stock changes.

Refresh on open is enabled by default. Optional automation can also withdraw retainer gil after syncing or repeating ventures. If stock looks wrong, sync before creating another order.

Progress status

Progress is the best place to understand what Minbeth is doing.

StatusMeaningYour next move
Start queuedInventory or feature data is refreshing before planning.Let the queued start finish; use STOP QUEUED START to cancel it.
QueuedThe operation is valid and waiting for its turn.No action is normally required.
ReadyThe operation is executable now.It will run when its priority is selected.
WaitingA valid time, weather, GP, location or other condition is not ready.Read the waiting reason before changing anything.
RunningAn action is being performed.Let it finish unless you need to stop safely.
Unavailable / blockedNo executable route currently satisfies the order rules.Fix the first source, unlock, gear, location or currency blocker.
CompleteThe requested workflow finished.Confirm the result in inventory, retainer or currency.
ErrorA workflow failed rather than merely waiting.Read the exact message, stop cleanly and correct that cause.
IdleNo workflow is active.Start an order or direct action.
The first blocker is usually the answer. Fix the first missing item, permission, source or condition and the remaining plan can often continue automatically.

Tools

Tools contains three normal-user workspaces: Order Priorities, Master Books and Melder.

Routing

Order Priorities

Controls which ready source or crafting job runs first. A disabled priority cannot execute.

Unlocks

Master Books and Folklore

Refresh ownership, switch between Crafting and Folklore, and use ADD MISSING to create the required orders.

Gear

Melder

Import a Teamcraft gearset, review each slot and gear source, add missing materia to Orders, then start, pause or stop melding.

Overmelding consumes materia and can fail. Review the imported plan, carried materia, gear source and Go home first option before pressing START MELDING.

Settings and important defaults

Settings is split into General, Crafting, Gathering, Fishing, Buying and Repair.

DefaultWhat it means for a new user
Craft, gather and fish: onNormal production sources may run when the order permits them.
Collectable exchange: onCollectable turn-ins and Scrip Exchange purchases may be planned.
Market Board buying: offNormal orders cannot buy from player listings until explicitly enabled.
Vendor buying: onNPC vendor purchases are allowed and preferred before Market Board purchases.
Mob Hunt: offMob-drop farming is blocked until deliberately enabled.
HQ materials: onOwned HQ materials and automatic HQ sub-material planning may be used when appropriate.
Repair: on at 20%Minbeth may buy Dark Matter and use an NPC fallback to keep the queue running.
Mount and Aethernet: onLong routes may use mounts and useful city Aethernet travel.
Teleport tickets: offTickets are not consumed unless you enable them.

Materia extraction is opt-in. Debug, diagnostic and support tuning controls are for troubleshooting and normally do not need changing.

Repairs, homes and routing

Repair methods

Smart

Use Dark Matter where possible, then use an NPC mender.

Dark Matter only

Repair only through the Dark Matter you have available.

NPC mender only

Travel to an NPC mender instead.

Homes

Homes are saved useful locations for crafting, gathering or travel. Save the current position, go to a saved home, or remove one you no longer use. A small, practical list is easier to understand.

Default order priorities

Purchase, Gather, Fish, Carpenter, Blacksmith, Armorer, Goldsmith, Leatherworker, Weaver, Alchemist, Culinarian, Exchange, then Mob.

Mob actions are disabled by default. Keep them disabled unless you intentionally want that behaviour.

Troubleshooting

Start on Progress, find the first unusual status, then use the matching row.

Final checklist

Run through this before leaving a larger workflow active.

The order

  • The order type is correct.
  • The finished item and quantity are correct.
  • The quantity mode means what you intend.
  • The material source rules are correct.
  • Recipes, books, gear and tools are available.

The safeguards

  • Market buying is intentionally on or off.
  • Vendor buying is intentionally on or off.
  • Price, total and gil reserve limits are sensible.
  • Sell, Discard and Desynthesis selections were reviewed.
  • Inventory has enough space.
  • Progress shows no unexpected blocker.
Ready? Press START QUEUE and let Minbeth handle the fiddly bits.
Minbeth user guide, written for release version. The core workflow is always the same: choose a result, set the rules, review the plan, start, and read Progress.
